Revving Up Style and Speed: The Custom Fatty Setup Honda Ruckus by Harold Oclarit and Team RRworks

By: Arnel B. Santos-Ynigo

In Cebu's custom scooter scene, one machine stands out as a true masterpiece of innovation and style. Harold Andrew M. Oclarit, in collaboration with Team RRworks from Minglanilla, has brought to life a remarkable stretched-out fatty setup on a 2009 Honda Ruckus. This custom creation not only turns heads with its unique aesthetics but also packs a serious punch under the hood. Let's dive into the world of this one-of-a-kind scooter and discover what sets it apart from the crowd.

The Aesthetic Marvel: A Low and Stretched-Out Profile

The first thing that catches your eye when you see this custom Ruckus is its unmistakable stretched-out look. Thanks to an extended engine support, Harold achieved a low and sleek profile that oozes style and sophistication. But it's not just about appearances; this Ruckus is designed for performance as well.

Rolling in Style: Douglas Mag Wheels (12x8)

The custom Ruckus sits on a set of Douglas Mag Wheels (12x8), adding to its unique character and providing stability on the road. These wheels not only look fantastic but also improve the scooter's handling, making it a joy to ride.

Unleashing the Beast: Power and Performance

Under the hood, this Ruckus packs a punch. Major engine upgrades include a FCR 28mm carburetor, coil blaster for the ignition coil, 60mm block kit on a GY6 engine, and a racing pulley for GY6. These enhancements give the scooter more power and responsiveness, making it a true speed demon on the streets.

Smooth Cruising: Custom Tuned Suspension

To maintain stability at high speeds, Harold and Team RRworks custom-tuned the suspension system. They installed a 205mm Sniper 150 Shock Absorber and a Honda Dio hub with an outer tube featuring a 200mm caliper bracket. These modifications ensure a low center of gravity and a smooth ride, even when pushing the scooter to its limits.

Details Matter: Dorf seat frame, Carbon Fiber, and More

The devil is in the details, and this Ruckus doesn't disappoint. Neon green calipers add a pop of color to the scooter's overall aesthetic. Harold also opted for a Dorf seat frame, lowered specifically for the Ruckus, and Moxi brake master cylinders. Customized brake hoses in the rear ensure precise stopping power.

For enhanced performance and a lighter overall build, carbon fiber components were added, including the rear fender, plate, and a lightened CVT cover. Rainbow titanium bolts, a basic digital speedometer, chrome gas tank cover, Bosch horn, Koso quick throttle, domino switch, and JDM handgrips complete the meticulous customization.

Rubber Meets the Road: Michelin and Vee Rubber Tires

To ensure optimal traction, this Ruckus features a Michelin tire at the rear (140x70) and a Vee Rubber tire at the front. These tires provide excellent grip and stability, further enhancing the scooter's performance on the road.

In conclusion, Harold Andrew M. Oclarit and Team RRworks have taken the concept of a custom scooter to new heights with this stretched-out fatty setup 2009 Honda Ruckus. It's not just a mode of transportation; it's a masterpiece of design and engineering. With its stunning looks and enhanced performance, this Ruckus is a testament to the endless possibilities of customization in the world of two-wheelers. It's more than a scooter; it's a work of art in motion.

Custom Honda C70 Adventure Cub : A Unique Blend of Nostalgia and Custom Craftsmanship

By: Arnel B. Santos-Ynigo

In the world of custom motorcycles, there's often a common thread of creativity that binds builders together, but every so often, a project comes along that stands out as a true testament to individuality and craftsmanship. One such project is the "Adventure Cub 70", a custom-built masterpiece by the talented Andrew Ford U. Guardo of "Hibjok Moto Customs." Drawing inspiration from the 1970s Honda Trail CT90 model, this one-of-a-kind motorcycle takes us on a journey back in time while pushing the boundaries of modern customization.

The Honda Trail CT90, a beloved classic, was a fixture in the United States during its heyday. It was the go-to choice for camping enthusiasts, recreational hunters, and park rangers alike. Guardo's Adventure Cub 70 pays homage to this iconic machine while infusing it with a unique twist that sets it apart from the crowd.

One of the standout features of this custom creation is the rear carrier, sourced from a Yamaha V50, which not only adds functionality but also adds a touch of vintage charm. The turn signals, borrowed from the DT100, seamlessly integrate with the design, maintaining the classic look while providing modern functionality. The front fork from a Yamaha RS100 adds stability and control to the Adventure Cub's ride, ensuring a smooth journey ahead.

Building this distinctive motorcycle presented its own set of challenges. Guardo embarked on this project during the quarantine period, which meant that sourcing parts was no easy feat. Many of the aftermarket components were procured from online stores and motorcycle parts outlets in Cebu, showcasing the builder's dedication to making this dream a reality despite the odds.

The Adventure Cub 70 boasts several unique customizations that set it apart. A custom-style pipe, ordered from Indonesia, gives it a signature look and distinctive exhaust note. A custom bash plate and chain guard, both meticulously crafted by Hibjok Moto Customs, not only enhance the bike's aesthetics but also provide essential protection. The custom-made leather seat adds a touch of luxury and comfort to the ride, elevating it from a mere motorcycle to a work of art.

Guardo's attention to detail shines through in the alterations made to various parts and accessories. The center cover, aluminum skidplate, non-digital style gasoline gauge, self-locking seat, and headlight cowling, complete with a customized speedometer, all contribute to the Adventure Cub's unique personality. With a semi-aggressive stance, this motorcycle is built to tackle both the urban jungle and the off-road wilderness. Equipped with a snorkel and a well-calibrated sprocket combination, it can confidently wade through 3-4 feet of street flooding and conquer steep hills with ease.

In the world of custom motorcycles, where many builds tend to follow familiar patterns, the Adventure Cub 70 breaks free from convention. Andrew Ford U. Guardo's passion for crafting a truly unique machine has resulted in a motorcycle that pays homage to the past while looking to the future. With its blend of nostalgia, functionality, and distinctive style, the Adventure Cub 70 is a testament to the boundless creativity of custom motorcycle builders. It stands as a shining example of what can be achieved when a talented craftsman dares to dream beyond the ordinary.

Special thanks to my friend Mr. Ernest Quin Leyson for trusting me in building his motorcycle, Thank you for trusting the process ... to my elder brother Mr. Philip Guardo a big thanks as always for the awesome european made tools I hope there's more to come, a big thanks also to my mentor Mr. Rene Mendoza for the never ending guidance and support especially in frame customization and lastly To my ever supporting lovely wife Flobelle E. Guardo for the unconditional support of love and patience inspite of the challenges that we are currently facing. Thank you so much Underbone Tuner for featuring my latest build project.” Andrew added to close our interview.
