For this week we are featuring a Modified Sniper 135 owned and conceptualized by Ralph "RJ" Onie Tan Go of Cebu City. RJ is the Founder and Ex-president of the Vega Force Riders Pack Cebu, and currently a member of the United Snipers Club Cebu. He works from home and is also a hobbyist of modifying motorcycles and as well as a Gunpla collector and artisan. "This is my second time being featured here in Inside Racing, I have a passion for modification ever since my Car Guy days back in College where I also modify and accessorize cars, as I hate to keep my ride stock." RJ added during the interview. The bike is a combination of matte black and glossy black, accentuated with chrome details. The bike looks fierce if "Batman" rode an underbone this would be it. Hence we dubbed it as the "Dark Knight" a tribute to the dark / brooding guardian and watchful protector of Gotham City.
RJ wanted the bike to be simple and sleek but still emanate sheer ferocity so he opted to use matte black combined with contrasting glossy black body panels. To add details to the bike he opted to use chrome and silver accessories which really makes the bike eye catching and enhances the overall visual aesthetics of the bike. He used a wide array of Racing Boy parts and accessories such as the Brake Lever, Hand Grips, Bar Ends, Fork Stabilizer, Front and Rear Disc rotor, Disk bracket, Rear Caliper Cover, Crank Case Cover, Rear Suspension and oil filter cover. For the body he used custom Aries Protaper Belly pan V2, Yamaha Genuine Visor, and Yamaha Sniper 150 Front fender. To improve braking performance and the visual aesthetics of the brake system he upgraded to Rizoma Brake fluid Reservoir, Rizoma Brake fluid reservoir holder, Morin and Earl's Brake hose, and Racing Boy Front & Rear Disc Rotor. To protect the brake system from crashes he installed MT8 Caliper cover/Sliders. He also made upgrades to the Suspension to improve overall handling by using Racing Boy Mono shock, Trusty Outer Tube and Racing Boy Fork Stabilizer.
The bike also sports a wide array of THDM aftermarket parts such as the Boushi Swing Arm V2 for X1R, Boushi Rearset for Sniper 150, Der Racing Reservoir cover, SPS Helmet hook, SRK Choke Lever, MT8 Brake hose holder, MT8 and DK Washer caps, MT8 Axle Covers. He also made upgrades to the console adding a Voltmeter, Pamila RPM Gauge and Halo switch. For added safety / security he installed a Yamaha Alarm system and also a GPS system. The build did not come easy
due to the availability of the parts and accessories. "The most satisfying aspect of this hobby is simple, you spend a lot of money for branded accessories, modifications and customs, yet you can show that achievement to everybody who can see your bike. Especially if people stop and stare at all the details you placed in it." RJ added during the interview.
