For this week we are featuring a Moto GP inspired Yamaha Sniper 150 MXi. Living in an island far
away from the city has not stopped John Kenneth Medalla from building his Yamaha Sniper 150
MXi show bike. The bike is inspired by Mark Marquez's Red Bull 93 Moto GP bike. Though the theme is for another manufacturer nevertheless John wanted to pay tribute to his favorite Moto GP rider.
The bike is the product of the collaboration of John, his brother Jude Kindred Medalla and their
mechanics Rolan, Jude, and Lester. The decals are custom cut by John and his team. The design is
based on Mark Marquez's Red Bull 93 Moto GP bike. Installation of the decals was no easy task for the team as they had to custom cut the decals to fit the body panels. The bike uses a wide array of Racing Boy goodies such as the rear set assembly, Chain Guard, Brake Line Guide, Brake Calipers,Brake Disk rotor, Brake Fluid reservoir, Handle Grips, Clutch and Brake levers. The team used Red and Silver color combinations to accentuate the overall Red Bull Moto GP theme. They also installed transparent Clutch and crankcase covers for the engine. One of the difficult modifications done by the team is the custom Owl Eye headlight which really makes the bike look aggressive and cool. Another is the installation of the super wide ASIO Mag Wheels as they had to do custom machining and adjustments to the body to accommodate the wide rims. It makes the bike look bolder and larger than life and the two tone color really adds special detail and makes the bike
really eye catching.
The Web has certainly made our world a smaller place. You would never have thought that there’s a
growing motorcycle custom/modifying culture in the island of Bantayan which is known for its
white sand beaches and resorts. John and his team have been making waves in the local motor show
scene and they have been racking-up wins throughout last year and there are no signs of them
slowing down.
