Monster Energy MotoGP Themed Yamaha Sniper 150MXi from Tinago Cebu City

By: Arnel B.Santos-Ynigo

For this week we are featuring a Monster Energy MotoGP inspired Yamaha Sniper 150MXi from Brgy. Tinago Cebu City. The bike is owned by Reche G. Cadungog an employee of Oriental Port and Allied Services Corporation (OPASCOR) and a proud member of the Club Sniper 150 MXi Cebu. Originally Reche wanted to apply the "Moviestar" MotoGP theme to his bike but then he noticed the Monster Energy logo below the moviestar logo when he was washing his bike. So it inspired the idea to pursue a Monster Energy theme and for him it was not a common concept and color scheme for the Sniper150. So it would make his bike standout even more. From then on he started working on his show bike, focusing to stay true with the overall theme and color scheme.

The bike sports Racing Boy goodies such as the Brake and Clutch Levers Hand Grips, Rearset,Front and Rear Disk Rotors. He also used various THDM parts such a Rizoma Side Mirrors,Rizoma Low Profile Signal Lights, Rizoma Grab Bar, Brembo Brake Calipers, Shafer Inverted Forks, Mody5 Crankcase cover, Mody5 Headlight Assembly, Mody5 Owl Eye, Yamaha Belt Drive, VMAX Muffler, Custom Seat and Muttaru Spyder Mag wheel. The body panels were then wrapped with custom cut Monster Energy theme decals made by CYRUS Grafix Decals. Reche also installed Custom Fiberglass belly pan.

During the build, there were a lot of challenges encountered by Reche and his mechanics, especially when the parts they ordered didn't reach in time for the big motor shows in Cebu because most of the parts they used are shipped from Luzon. They also encountered problems when some parts do not fit right away due to some slight variation so they had to do some custom machining to integrate the parts seamlessly. There was also one time that his team almost did not reach the time cut-off for ingress due to fitment problems. But his team persevered and overcame the challenges they encountered. Reche has been racking-up wins in the local bike show scene and the nearby cities. So far the hard work, time and money he has invested on the bike has been paying off.
