RUGP 3rd Leg Cebu : Sugbo SRP Race Results
Heavy rains pounded Cebu for the whole day and some parts of the City were flooded in knee
deep waters. It was certainly challenging going to the venue given the un-cooperative weather.
When I arrived in the venue I was totally surprised that hundreds of underbone racing fans
graced the event despite the foul weather. It is indeed a testament on how the RUGP racing
series has built a solid following among racing fans in Cebu. They braved the elements to cheer for
their favorite teams and riders who in turn gave them a racing spectacle they will never forget.
The race was held in Sugbo SRP which provided a picturesque view of the Cebu Strait and there
were moments when the rain slowed down you could see Lava Island, Shell Island and the mangrove
forest in Kalawisan Mactan. But as the day went on the rain got stronger butit was nothing compared
to the intense racing action that transpired on track. The main focus would be on 2 of the most
dominant teams to emerge from the South, Honda Motorworld and the Suzuki-BMR Racing Team.
This searing hot rivalry has certainly made the teams evolve and raise their game to a whole new
level this in turn made the race a whole lot more exciting and even more nerve wracking.
The race was made possible with the support of Event Title sponsor and presenter Castrol Philippines,
Castrol Power One and Major Sponsors Honda Philippines Inc., Honda Motorworld Inc., Super Max,
Super Shavers, MTRT, VS1, Mototek, and Corsa Motorcycle Tires.
