Cebu City was once again shaken to its very core as thousands of bikers took to
the streets for the annual Street Vibrations Motorcycle Rally. This yearly event
is highly anticipated by bike enthusiasts in Cebu and the surrounding provinces as
it is the biggest gathering of motorcycles from big bikes to underbones and it is
the day of the year when motorcycles rule the streets of Cebu and large crowds
gather along the streets to witness the spectacle of this earth shaking stream of
motorcycles as far as the eye can see.
For this year the rally was prioritized for bikes 400cc up, the underbone
participants were regulated because of the accidents that occured during the
previous year involving unruly underbone riders. Despite this some well behaved
underbone groups were allowed to participate.
During registration the riders were given free Street Vibrations Merchandize such
as T-Shirt, Bandana and Arm Sleeves. All registered riders were treated to a mouth
watering meal at Waterfront Hotel in Lahug. After the hearty meal and some rest
period the marshalls would now give the signal to start firing-up the bikes. From
the Waterfront Hotel the bikers proceeded to Asiatown IT Park to assemble according
to bike club and prepare for ride-out.
The agile Cebu Highway Patrol Police escorts lead the way as they clear the traffic
they are followed by the VOG Officers and Senator Bong Revilla to make way for
thousands of roaring motorcycles. The participants thunder their way through Mango
Avenue, Osmena Boulevard and Jones before heading out to Naga City. The entire bike
army gathers at the Naga City Plaza overlooking the its scenic shoreline where they
were treated to an endless supply of food and beer. After an hour and a half the
contingent would now proceed to Sugbu via SRP and upon their arrival in the Sugbo
grounds they were served a good supply of pizza and drinks. After that the bikers
proceeded to Mactan to drive around the island before heading back to Kartzone for
the finale of the Street Vibrations Bike Rally.
In Kartzone the participants were entertained by live bands, stage demonstrations,
contests on the track and also some bike goodies shopping, as the venue was packed
by booths wherein a biker can find all the merchandize he could possibly want and
wish for, it was truly a bikers paradise and a climactic ending to the biggest bike
gathering in Cebu.
The bike clubs and organizations who took part in the event were VOG, Star,
Outsiders, Nomads, Cycluns, Cebu Cruizers, HERO, CCM, CebuBikers,
Yamaha Mio Club, URBC, FR, Swapang, Z2 Riders, C2R and some independent riders.

Sinulog Bike Show Picture Gallery 2
If you think that overloading your bike with all the after market parts
money can buy is enough to make you win a bike show, you better think again.
In my coverage of the 3rd Sinulog bike show organized by Team RPM there are more
factors involved to make it big in the score card. These basic factors are
usually taken for granted but if you capitalize on them they can ultimately
lead to victory. I took the liberty of naming a few very important ones.
One factor is cleanliness, often overlooked but it will make a big difference on
how you present your bike. A clean bike will be more eye catching and the judges
will surely appreciate the time and effort you made in preparing and cleaning your
bike.
Hint: ( Better check the spokes, the hubs, the swing arm, the under chassi, the
exhaust headers, tires, disk rotor just to name a few )
Another important factor is showmanship. Showmanship can take you a long way and
it will make you score high in terms of audience impact. So dont treat the bike
show like a parking lot in the mall wherein you just settle your bike and forget
about it. You have to use your imagination, start with a flashy bike stand, mini-
stage or rotating mount. Then add in some lighting flair and it will greatly
improve your chances. The possibilities are endless in this aspect just do
everything you can to put the spotlight on your bike.
Another important factor is uniqueness, your bike has got to stand out. Being
unique will be an x-factor to separate you from the rest. So in this regard you
have to do some scouting and research, dont just follow the trend make a new trend
dont be afraid to push the limits and experiment on something new. You will
surely reap the rewards later.
Hope you enjoy the pictures below. Safe riding bros.
