Bitaw kidding aside I understand the frustration of those who
did not agree with the final decision. You have invested time, money and
a lot of effort to come up with these amazing creations with your bikes
so I will try to do my best to shed light into the event. I think what happened was there was
no diversity in point of view due to unforeseen circumstances. I think 3 judges are not enough for 50
bikes and there were only 2 points of view available but the show must go on
so the organizers had to keep the event moving forward.

2 judges (representing the bike enthusiasts point of view) and 1 judge (representing the point of view of the Media)
originally there were supposed to be 5 judges total plus 2(from the sponsors side) but they did not push through
so the organizers had to improvise to ensure that the show must go on to prevent postponement of the decision.
I think this is a very important lesson when it comes to judging these kinds of events to come-up
with a well balanced decision. There should be at least 6 to 8 judges to ensure diversity of
point of views and ideas. This is also to make sure that each point of view is well represented.

Points of view to consider:
1. Enthusiasts point of view - persons who are actively involved in the art of
customizing/modifying bikes provided they dont have an entry.
2. Point of view from the Media - people from the Media (Magazine, News paper, Radio, TV)
3. Point of view from a non-motorist - to represent point of view from a regular person who is not into bikes.
4. Point of view from an ordinary motorist - persons who own bikes but not actively
involved in competitive bike modification/customization.
5. Point of view from a mechanic provided he is not affiliated with any of the entries.
6. Point of view from a race rider provided he is not affiliated with any of the entries.

I think having 1 to 2 persons for each can achieve a well balanced decision and it also pays to
have a back-up in-case some backout during the event.

I also think this is part of our evolution as underbone and scooter enthusiasts we share the same
fascination for motorcycles and scooters and we learn new things with each bike show and from these
learnings we can come-up with improvements to ensure the next event will be more balanced
in terms of point of view and much more spectacular. Overall its a good start and I think the organizers did
a good job considering it was their first time, I am confident that they will continue
to evolve and improve to come-up with more unforgettable events next time around. I also
hope for unity and understanding among all the stake holders as we step into the next
chapter of our evolution.

Congratulations to all the winners and congratulations to Cebu Pro Elite bikes for a job well done.
The event was a smashing success as hundreds of underbone and scooter enthusiasts attended the event
despite the heavy rain. It was certainly exciting to have this yearly tradition back again
after a year of absence January and Sinulog week is not complete without the bike show
to open the year. It was an event not to be missed as it showed how Cebu has evolved in terms of
customizing underbones and scooters. It was also a night of pushing boundaries and breaking new ground
as proven by the guys from Type-E who never fail in making mind blowing creations who concluded the night with
3 podium finishes. It was also a night to be dazzled by the jaw-dropping modifications and detail as proven by the
guys from City Customs who capped the night with a double podium finish. It also brought out new and exciting players
to this field a testament that this hobby/artform/lifestyle is growing in astronomical proportions
each year. The organizers promised of a bigger and a much more spectacular event next year.

When the Colt45 MotoRoc Racing series was announced to be hitting
the shores of Cebu it was like a steady crackle of electricity
gradually building-up heading into race day. Everybody was really
excited because this particular racing series was bringing something
different. Aside from the racing action and a chance to compete in
Manila for the national finals it also had an abundance of side events
that lasted for two days and the ones you wont likely forget because
you were having the time of your life. It was like a big rock concert,
party, bike expo and race event rolled into one. There were a lot of freebies
and prizes to be won on the side games and also the unforgetable performances
by the Go Girls who lit the stage on fire with their steaming hot dance
numbers.

In the Superstock categories it was a solid performance by the top riders
of X-Racing as they bagged back to back podium finishes for 2 consecutive categories. Insik Flores took top finish in the 125 superstock category but a category later Mario Borbon would bounce back to take top finish in the 110/115 superstock category. Watching this two riders on track sometimes you might think they were coming from opposing teams because of their extreme focus and sheer determination they dont hold anything back when they face each other and they always make it a point to rock the house when they are racing on track.

In the 110/115 Modified Category it was a dominant performance by Eric Gjengaar of
CYRUS Racing. He was a man on a mission and there was no stopping him, once he got
the lead he kept it for good all the way to the checkered flag. It was also a solid
overall performance by female rider C-let Cuizon bagging 2nd place as she fought
her way to the top out-riding a deep field of riders, she is slowly but surely taking
her place as one of the elite riders from Cebu.

In the Open 4-stroke category Bobby Mencias of Team BMR put on a very unforgetable
performance it was like dejavu from 2008 all over again when the Blitzkreig
lit up the track much to the crowds delight. Mario Borbon took the 2nd spot after
battling his way out of the chase pack. Charlie Villanueva also made an impressive
debut in the open class taking 3rd.

In the 160 Modified Scooter category it was a brilliant performance by Paul Mencias
who has been slowly but surely hacking his way up the podium. He is constantly evolving and it will be only a matter of time before he takes his place as one of the dominant riders in Cebu. He bags top finish over Insik Flores an Jun Batulan.

In the 180 Modified Scooter category Mario might just have earned himself the monicker of Super Mario. He has been racing the whole day from the stock engine classes all the way to the open classes and he was been a steady fixture at the podium there is no doubt that he is indeed a warrior in any sense because of his tenacity and will to endure the demands of racing majority of the classes. He takes the top spot followed by the father and son tag team Bobby and Paul Mencias.

In the main event of the day the Special Category Mario Borbon once again leaves everybody speechless as he put on a jaw dropping performance sneaking past Johnlery Enriquez in the final two rounds to bag top finish. Johnlery took 2nd followed by Bobby Mencias.

The Colt45 MotoRoc racing series will be back again in 2012 Im sure Cebuanos will be eagerly awaiting its return to the Queen City of the South.

Phoenix Cyclomax Motocyclo National Series Hits Cebu Tomorrow

Announcement for Phoenix Petroleum :

Phoenix Petroleum will gather motorcycle clubs from all over the country for the 6th leg of the Phoenix Cyclomax Motocyclo National Series on October 16, 2011 that will be held at the Minglanilla Sports Complex in Cebu.

The one-day event will feature the Search for Ms. Cyclomax Babe, Mechanic Skills Competition, Singing Contest, Dance Group Competition for motorcycle clubs members, Phoenix Cyclomax Motocyclo Challenge, Best Modified Motorcycle Competition and other fun games. There will also be a Driving and Safety Tips Seminar and a free change oil service for the event’s participants.

A lucky motorcycle enthusiast will also take home a brand new Kawasaki motorcycle in the raffle draw. A raffle ticket and other freebies will be given for every 1-liter purchase of Cyclomax Titan.

Regional Underbone Grand Prix (RUGP) Leg 1 - Race Results

After a very long dry spell of Open Make Underbone Circuit Racing in Cebu,
RUGP was a very welcome relief as it hosted the kick-off leg in Cebu.
Cebuano racing fans certainly got what they came for and so much more. RUGP
delivered hard hitting action and it gave Cebuano racing fans in Cebu a chance
to meet and witness national level riders from Manila like Rizaldy Canare of
Replica PRO HPI and Cassey Ng of MTRT in action. There were a lot of prizes
and freebies for spectators and racers alike.

In the 100-125 Superstock Beginners and Novice categories it was a solid
performance by 2010 Superstock standout Albert Cabucos of Team CYRUS as
he bagged a double win for both categories.

In the Beginners 130cc Open and Pioneer Mighty Gasket 4AT 160 Scooter Open
it was a brilliant performance by Drag racing standout Tonglee Cabrera of
X-Racing as he bagged back to back top finish for both categories.

One of the major highlights of the day was the re-emergence of Keken Cabahug
of Honda Motor World Racing Team, after a year long hiatus the fiery and
fearless rider who dominated 2009 is now back in fighting form as he bagged
back to back top finishes for both Novice 130 Open and Novice Open 4-stroke,
both hard earned victories at crunch time against versatile veteran
Rizaldy Canare.

RUGP attracted a lot of new riders and clubs from all over Cebu and the nearby
provinces and the event in general was simply spectacular so racing fans
better brace themselves once more as RUGP will be back in August.

Philippine 2-wheeled motorsports grieves the loss of Maico Buncio

As the whole nation was shocked by the sudden passing of
beloved national rider Maico Buncio we are left to ponder
how could this happen? As of this writing the stake holders
of the race are still investigating on some lapses that
caused this tragedy.

Maico Buncio will forever more serve as an inspiration to
all aspiring riders. He was one of the brightest stars
of Philippine motorsports. He will surely be missed.

Our deepest condolences to the Buncio Family from all
of the riders in the South.

The Yamaha MX 135 has a set of new features including rear disc brake as a
standard, 5-speed transmission and new radical body design.

Another noteable feature is the usage of wide front and rear rims that
is 2.00 x 17″ for front wheel and 2.50 x 17″ for rear wheel. Wider tyres
provide a plusher ride and better handling with great improvement on cornering.
The rear wheel also sports new features like the chain tensioner of
the Yamaha FZ-150i (Vixion). It also has a 25mm carburetor compared to the
Sniper 135 which is only 22mm.

Power figures are up to (12,52 Ps @ 8.500 rpm) and (1,24 kgf.m torque @ 6.000 rpm )
for the new Yamaha MX compared to the previous Sniper 135 ranging only at
(11.49ps/8500rpm) and (1.19 kgf.m torque @ 6.000rpm).

Finally its here the Regional Underbone GP 2011 !
Cebu has been hit with a dry spell for circuit racing
for 2011, but the biggest racing event in the region
has finally hit our shores.

This is an OPEN MAKE Race and the riders from Cebu have
been waiting for this for a long time. Teams from
Manila like Suzuki and MTRT are expected to attend together
with some teams form Davao. So it will be a great
opportunity for the Cebuanos to meet the National riders
from Manila.

in several variants 150cc, 250cc, 350cc and 400cc.

The video is a 150cc version, it lacks torque because the ATV
body is quite heavy but it really looks like a fun bike to ride.

Bajaj CT 100 Cafe Racer

At first look this bike resembles a european cafe racer and
I was really surprised to find our that it was a Bajaj Bike.
Michael who also works as a barista in BOs coffee really put
some time and effort on this bike despite his busy schedule
to get it to this point. It took a year to complete its
current setup and it looks amazing simple and sleek.
