The 1st Mayor Teresa Alegado Motor Show Competition

Underbone Tuner was on the scene for the 1st Mayor Teresa Alegado
Motor Show Competition and Exhibit held in SM City Consolacion
last October 27, 2012. It was by far the biggest and grandest
motor show for Underbones and Scooters I have ever covered in
the past 4 years.  I give my congratulations to Atty. Christian
Bacus and the entire Yati Racing Team (YRT) for a very well organized
and successful motor show.   Underbone & Scooter enthusiasts from all
over Cebu were in attendance, even attracting participants as far as
Cagayan de Oro. There were 33 bike entries and it showcased the
bike building skills and talents of underbone and scooter enthusiasts
from the south.

In the Modified Category it was a solid overall scoring of Airol Mahinay
of ARP Motowerks bagging him the top prize with a total score of 250 pts.
His bike showcased jaw dropping airbrush art, lighting and a custom made
display platform which had him dominating all aspects of the modified
category criteria.  He is followed by Eddie Macasero of South Scooters Club
who got 2nd scoring 229 pts. and Giovanni Tabuelog of Zipp Racing who
got 3rd with 207 pts. Airol also bagged the Best in Display award.

In the Customized category it was a tight battle for the top spot as the scores
were very close among the top 3.  The top 3 bikes had very unique creations and
had contrasting strengths and weaknesses but consistent scoring on all the criterias
proved to be the difference maker between total victory or defeat.
It was indeed a fierce battle for the top prize but when the smoke cleared
Resvic Aguilar emerged victorious with a score of 239 pts.  His unique
take on the XRM Motard themed green promise to promote environmental awareness
was really a fresh idea in the motor show scene.  Entering his booth it
emanated a sense or serenity and zen he stuck true with his theme and
all parts that were in the bike were carefully selected and parts were
specially machined to fit flawlessly into his overall concept. It was by far
his most refined creation. Reedo Timosan who came all the way from CDO bagged
a tie in 1st place with a score of 239 pts., he certainly brought his A-Game scoring
solidly on majority of the criteria especially the manner he presented his bike.
He certainly showcased his journey on how he developed his bike by including his
past trophies, pictures and streamers to imerse viewers with his creation which
sported the dragon theme. Solid airbrush work, and a good combination of
parts and accessories combined with dazzling lighting work and a mind blowing
sound system had him finishing consistenly on the score board helping him to bag a tie in the top spot.
Brothers Roel and Rosel Kong bagged 2ndd place with 235 pts. but by far they have brought
the most unique bike in the competition as they sported the first hubless
and turbo intercooler MIO scooter in the Philippines. They certainly pushed the
engineering boundaries with their creation which was no easy accomplishment.
All the parts and special machine work were done by Roel himself and the crew
at C & N engineering. He is certainly a DIY guy in a sense as he did the
parts installation, research and development himself.  Their bike modifications
had propelled them to the top 3 but they fell short to some specific criterias
which could have provided additional scoring and would have been essential to
push them all the way. It was a very tight race for the top spot indeed as every
score of each criteria counted and it provided a very exciting bike show for
all underbone & scooter enthusiasts.
